PART 1: BEAUTY BAR ART SHOW
On February 2nd, Jesse Lankford of Loosey Goosey Zine collaborated with California-based The Infusion Project to host a series of showcases throughout out Chicago.
The “Art Show” at Beauty Bar Cafe featured Remo (me) of the Tribe, along with good friend Kathleen Boudwin. Child-homie Kevin Hsia surprised the night by opened the night with some tunes.
Photos for the night, besides my instagram shots, were provided by Poggled. Click here to see the good photos that were not shot on instagram. You might have to like em on Facebook before you see the photos.
I’ve been sketching quite a bit on my most recent project with Bearbook. Many members of Wild Man Design Tribe will be contributing works and interpretation of the “Teeth” the theme of this first publication.
Support and order your Bearbook today, here!
“Bearbook is presented by Jillian Barthold with Ashley Rose Reinsmith and Kady Dennell.
Bearbook is an art collaboration quarterly in the form of a zine/chapbook sized book that brings artists of all mediums and concentrations together around a common theme. This could include but is not limited to photographers, painters, graphic designers, printmakers, culinary artists, papercutters, fashion designers, writers, etc. The first theme is “teeth” and the book will include 40-50 submissions that all somehow include the artist’s interpretation/incorporation of teeth.”
NO. WILD MAN DESIGN TRIBE IS NOT DEAD.

Stay plugged as we’ll update you on what’s been cookin up this year.
Also, follow us on Facebook (we want everyone to do it)
IDK if you guys care about your signatures but i do. Go ahead and forge it, since these are my roughs. I’m not scurred.

THE LEFT HAND JOURNEY
ILLUSTRATION | 2011Since I started drawing with my left hand again, I’ve been enjoying drawing to the fullest. All those frustrating times are now over. When I need a break, I just whip out my sketchbook and do a lil some some. I lost some old style and got some new, but I’m just happy to get it out.

Blood Oath Tees
Commissioned
Screen Printed Tees
By Chas ApplebyThis project was made possible thanks to my buddy Ricky Staffieri. His comedy group known as BLOOD OATH needed some merch for their show spanning the entire month of November at Stage 773. Go check out the show at 1225 W. Belmont Chicago, IL. Follow the group on Facebook and snag a tee at the show!
These tees were printed thanks to the unimaginable schedule Remo has. We banged them out in a matter of one hour probably. With a good number of screens and the capabilities to create these simple shirts, the tribe will hopefully be taking on many more silk screening projects. Thanks again hope you guys make it out to see BLOOD OATH!!!
Fort Students in Design’s fundraiser this year, we decided to pre-screen print shirts instead of doing live printing at the schools open house. It was great, I had the opportunity to break out my old screen printing table in my new place.
We ended up finishing up only 2/3 designs with 50 shirts folded away. Tomorrow we’ll have to finish the last batch of 25.
The shirts also took up the whole outside deck area, but wouldn’t dry to the cold so my apartment living room transformed into a drying room. If you were wondering about the walls…yes. People got to kick back and bond over couple drawings on the wall when they were switching in n out.
THE ELECTRONIC DJ BY JON REMO First attempt using my washed out marker approach. It was a specific process I developed when I used to sketch on the train. I first do a rough using ballpoint, then wash it out with a prisma, and then refine again in ballpoint. It has a nostalgic approach. The filter/instagram shot makes it look photoshoped!!! *RIGHT SIDE SERIES: Series of work done with my non-prominant hand to push my ambidextrous ability

“I’ve been learning how to draw with my other hand after recently getting in a bicycle accident. I’ve been inspired to become ambidextrous, therefore I thought it’d be fun to start a sketchbook done only by my non dominant hand”
“The quote doesn’t not date 2008, but a figure that I meant in 2008 that changed my life”
